Because a thankful heart is a happy heart – Days 5 and 6

Well, that election did not go at all like I expected. I mean, it did. But it didn’t. Except for when it did. But not really. But kind of. And yet not. You know.

I always think I understand the Electoral College. And then it turns out I don’t. Except for when I do. And then actually, it turns out I was still confused. In other words:

Anyway, to continue with my thankfuls (you can read Days 1-4 here)…

Day 5: I am thankful for cozy evenings and candles. It was a chilly night last night, but the my giant fleece blanket, comfy pajama pants and a flickering candle made me excited for winter! Yes… EXCITED. for WINTER. What in the what?

Day 6: Thankful for bloggers who can wax far more eloquently than I can about election day – Five Things Worth Celebrating on Election Day (Plus One More), by Kevin DeYoung. I liked this part – “Given the realities of human depravity and the corrupting influence of power, I’m grateful no one, not even the President, has the authority or the power in this country to make all his dreams come true.” Amen and amen.

Stage whisper: I’m also thankful for term limits. And that’s the most political thing I’ll say here. 😉
